Dr. Sarah King, Ph.D., Psychologist

Dr. King is a Clinical Psychologist in Lincoln, Nebraska. Dr. King provides a variety of assessments, mental health, and substance abuse services utilizing research-supported techniques and interventions.  She specializes in providing psychological evaluations for neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., Autism, ADHD), behavioral concerns, and general psychological evaluations.  Dr. King owns and operates the Behavioral Wellness Center.  She has served on the Nebraska Psychological Association board in various roles since 2017, and is the President-Elect.  She is also an adjunct faculty at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and provides supervision services for clinical psychology graduate students.  

Krysta Wood (Hunt),MA, LIMHP, PLADC

Krysta (Wood) Hunt MA, LIMHP, PLADC, is a counselor in Lincoln, NE.  She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Hastings College and Master's in Counseling at Doane University and has been in practice since 2015.  She uses evidenced-based treatments and open communication to bring a collaborative, person-centered approach to therapy. She adjusts her interventions to each individual and situation with an emphasis on cognitive behavioral techniques and strengths-based methods. She has worked closely with those involved with foster care. Krysta has a special interest in working with and advocating for the LGBTQ community.

Taylor Schoen, LMHP CMSW, is a mental health therapist in Lincoln, NE.  She earned her Bachelor's in Science at Nebraska Wesleyan University.  She then earned a Master's in Clinical Social Work at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and has been in practice since 2018.  Taylor has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She prefers a client centered approach and working alongside the client on their treatment goals. During her time in the field, Taylor has gained experience through intensive family preservation, in home, and outpatient therapy in office and through telehealth.

 

Soowhan Choi, Ph.D.  Psychologist

Dr. Choi has experience in hospitals, community, and university counseling centers. As a generalist psychologist, he has been working primarily with young adults and university students with concerns related to anxiety, depression, intimate relationship, anger, the family of origin, alcohol and other drugs, and career-related issues. His approach to counseling is to develop rapport, negotiate conceptualizations with his client, and decide and follow up with strategies to achieve goals collaboratively. He helps his clients organize their thoughts about their mental health and functioning and move toward the directions in life of their own choice and values.

Dr. Choi also provides psychological evaluations for various concerns including ADHD, Autism, and overall diagnostic clarification.

Colette Wheeler is a nurse practitioner that specializes in psychiatric care and provides medication management for mental health disorders.  She works collaboratively with other providers at the office and elsewhere to provide well-rounded care to her clients.

Heather Bouchard is a Clinical Psychology graduate student at the University of Nebraska Lincoln.  She has prior experience with evaluations in outpatient settings and specializes in the provision of psychological testing.  

 

Johanna Galles

Johanna Galles is an advanced undergraduate psychology student attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor's degree majoring in psychology.  She has experience working in other outpatient office settings working the front desk, and she also has previously been a nanny.  At the Behavioral Wellness Center, Johanna serves as a receptionist and assists clients with getting ready for their intake session, scheduling appointments, and provides billing support.  She also aides in the assessment and therapy process through gathering records as well as sending, administering, and scoring assessment measures.

Our interns are currently undergraduates at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, majoring in psychology.   At the Behavioral Wellness Center, the interns work closely with the providers to support the assessment and therapy process.
